Sniper Rifle
The Sniper Rifle. The very first sniper available in the game, and the one many players are stuck with due to insufficient Gold funds or because they missed the Hunter Rifle. Fortunately though, the weapon isn't as horrible as you'd imagine.
The first thing I'll cover is the basics with sniper weapons. You want to be able to scope in, shoot and scope out as quickly as possible to maintain your view of the area around you so you can see where players are around you. Find a set of controls that works for you and stick with it, learn how to use it and kill players with it. It's even better if you can manage a headshot, which will KO any player instantly. Body shots will leave them on a low amount of health, which gives players an opportunity to escape. The Sniper Rifle's better counterpart, the Anti-Material, follows a similar set of rules. So what sets them apart? Anti-Material doesn't have to reload between each shot. The couple of seconds it takes to reload and scope back in is enough to allow the player to escape, which means you'll be losing kills left and right with the standard sniper as a consequence of not being able to hit the fire button again immediately. This is why getting headshots with this weapon is so very, very important, and why the Anti-Material Sniper is such as big step forward from this weapon. |

The best way to use this sniper is to camp somewhere that you have you backside protected and manage as many kills as possible. It's horrible agility means it can't get across maps very quickly, so just hang out in a spot and find guys to beat. Another tip is to use the Spotter gadget; if you can see a player's location, you can position your crosshairs in advance before they turn a corner, so you can heatshot them very quickly. If camping's not your style, try the Hunter Rifle is you earned it during the Easter Egg Hunt; it has better agility and one-shot-kill abilities, which lifts the need to camp significantly.
To counter any sniper weapon, use some bulk to protect yourself from Hunter Rifle one-shot kills and if approaching sniper players directly, move side to side a little to throw off their aim while shooting them, which will distract them even more and continue to apply pressure on them.

TL; DR
Anti-Material Sniper and Hunter Rifle are both better, but this is a very decent and cheap alternative if you don't have those weapons.
