Missile Launcher
Rocket launcher weapons like this one are probably one of the least fortunate groups of weapons in terms of viability. Even the best of the pack - the Missile Launcher - fails to compare with other explosive weapons the Howitzer Gun and Thumper, which outclass these weapons in almost every way imaginable. The Missile Launcher is still a decent weapon, but it isn't worth the price to be completely honest.
The main issue with the Missile Launcher - and all the rocket launchers really - is their horrible fire rate, travel speed and reload time. One correctly aimed shot will do a lot of damage - almost enough to KO - but there is a small break between shots with this weapon, which will allow the player a chance to move and escape. That combined with the rocket's slow travel time makes this weapon unnecessarily hard to aim. Then there's their reload time, which takes an excruciatingly long time to happen. You only get four shots from it as well, which is honestly disappointing after you sat there and waited for five long seconds. As if the developers weren't mean enough to this weapon, it has horrible agility, so you can't even move quickly with it. |

This weapon really has no reason to be used over the Howitzer Gun, which is a very similar weapon but improves on everything that was bad about this weapon. It has a faster fire rate, barely any travel time at all, six shots in a clip instead of four and much faster reload time. There's also the Thumper, which allows you to instantly KO any player who doesn't use a ton of health armor in one quick shot.
If you still want to use this weapon though, here are some ideas as to how to get the most kills:
If you still want to use this weapon though, here are some ideas as to how to get the most kills:
- Play at a relatively short distance from your opponent. Keep away from them so you don't kill yourself accidentally from the recoil, but don't be so far away that your shots will miss because the player is moving.
- Only reload if you know its safe to do so. If you have three shots left and there's a player in front of you, it's not worth spending the time to get just one shot back. Beat them, and then reload so he can't get you while you're reloading. This is simple logic, so follow it.
- If shooting at long ranges, predict where your opponent will go and shoot that area. This is the best way to compensate for the long travel time. For example, if he's running toward you, shoot the ground just in front of him so he runs into the rocket.
TL; DR
It's an okay weapon, and I'd consider it if it wasn't outclassed by other better weapons. If you're saving Gold for something, Anti-Material Sniper, Double Barrel Shotgun and Blunderbuss should be your priorities.
