Dual Stake Launchers
The Dual Stake Launchers from the Monster Mash event are fantastic weapons overall. The weapons pack consistently good damage, good enough agility and a freezing side effect that can help position your kill. However, the weapons aren't perfect, and suffer from similar issues to the original one.
Their main issue is how slow the projectile they shoot travels. The weapons have fantastic range, but it is all wasted by this crippling flaw. All the player has to do is move the tiniest little bit and the shots will miss. This forces the weapon to be used at closer ranges, where it proves to be much more useful. The slowing effect, which freezes players, is also much more useful at close range as it will allow you to very easily wrap around the back of the player and hit them there, where their shots will not be able to harm you. At this range, the weapons are very good, and are definitely worth considering over the shotgun weapons for the better range and more consistent damage. Although they are very similar in design and name, the Dual Stake Launchers have a very different playstyle from the original Stake Launcher. The Dual Stake Launchers actually feel like serious weapons that you play with to win, unlike the original one which feels like something you play with just for the novelty. They are also better at closer ranges than the original Stake Launcher, which kills too slowly to compare with the shotguns that dominate close range combat. |

Some tips for use with this weapon:
- Target players who are standing still or running straight at you, since the Stake Launchers will have an easier time hitting them.
- At long range, the shots generally won't make it to their target, so limit yourself to closer range combat, where the shots have a better chance at hitting the target.
- If you can manage it, don't move around too much while shooting. This will improve the accuracy.
- As mentioned before, target people from their back, and if you can't, freeze them and wrap around to the back of them.
TL; DR
They are very good weapons, and will definitely have an impact on close range combat. It's just a shame that the weapon's great range was such a waste.
