Guitar Machine Gun
Respawnables hasn’t been very kind to automatic weapons like the Guitar Machine Gun. With all the new premium and event weapon added to the game that kill so much faster than it does, the weapon genuinely has trouble competing in today’s game.
Before I begin with any explanations of flaws with the weapon, I’ll outline some of its positive traits. The first is the weapon’s impressive accuracy stat. One problem with several automatic weapons is that they often pack unreliable accuracy and can struggle to make contact with their targets if they’re too agile. However, the Guitar Machine Gun breaks this trend, packing ammunition that literally homes in on its target as it moves, making it a very hard weapon to miss and making it particularly easy to use. The weapon also packs substantial range. In maps with large wide-open spaces, the Guitar Machine Gun proves particularly useful for picking off enemies before their own weapon allows them to damage you, which is the weapon’s niche in today’s game. However, as the game has changed and developed, more and more weapons have gained these traits, making it quite difficult for the Guitar Machine Gun to keep up. |

While it’s difficult to compare the Guitar Machine Gun and the Thumper given how different they are from each other, the Thumper still stands as a good example of a weapon that does the Guitar Machine Gun’s job better. It’s an instant kill weapon against most players and reaches to the same ranges the Guitar Machine Gun does. For this reason, the Thumper kills faster and is overall a more efficient weapon, especially at closer ranges. At closer ranges, shotgun weapons become competition, and the Guitar Machine Gun is even worse off under those circumstances. At least the Thumper can kill instantly like the shotguns; the Guitar Machine Gun relies on luck, strategic movement and clever reloading patterns in order to remain viable at closer ranges. Ultimately, it is this flaw that causes the Guitar Machine Gun to be outclassed – it just can’t kill as quickly as its competition.
On a more positive note, however, the Guitar Machine Gun does pack something that many other weapon’s don’t, and that is a good clip size. While the weapon’s fire rate does hamper its potential slightly in this regard, the weapon can go for a long time without reloading. The reload itself isn’t particularly long either, and also contains one of the coolest animations in the entire game in my opinion. The uninterrupted series of shots combined with the weapon’s accuracy makes the weapon hard to escape once it locks on, putting the player under pressure even if they escape. The weapon’s agility is good enough to put up a decent chase as well, especially in maps like Royal Gardens with wide open spaces and not very many places to hide safely.
Perhaps the one of the main reasons you may have chosen to view this article is to decide whether or not the weapon is worth its Gold price (which, ironically, you can earn by playing the game daily for a year thanks to daily bonuses). In my opinion, the Guitar Machine Gun is of a lower priority than the Anti Material Sniper and the Double Barrel Shotgun, but is certainly one of your next best options if you have already purchased those two weapons. Siege Cannon is also something to consider first. If you have nothing better to spend your Gold on, Guitar Machine Gun is worth it.
In terms of tips for the weapon, my best recommendation is to only use the weapon on maps that accommodate the Guitar Machine Gun’s range stat. The range is one of the only reasons you should consider using this weapon, so if the next map is a small map like Headquarters, don’t use the Guitar Machine Gun as you’ll be beaten by shotgun users that’re likely to be around in matches on these maps. Should you come into contact with a shotgun user, I recommend that you back away while firing at them to decrease the amount of damage they could potentially do to you. Strafing around the player’s shots is also a good way to defend yourself.

TL; DR
Perhaps one of the better automatic weapons in the game. Not really a weapon I'd use often, but still a fun weapon to play with.
