Chinese New Year
The Chinese New Year event is one that you'll recognise right from the getgo. Aside from the new theme of Eastside District and the new gear, this event is practically identical to the Ghostbuster's 30th event, with the ghosts replaced by Chinese Nian Dragon spirits, and Ectoplasm is replaced with Good Fortune points. However, this event is significantly more difficult than last due to the very short 12 days given to finish it, and due to the massive amount of Good Fortune points required. In total you must acquire a whopping 3,585,000 Good Fortune points to finish the event, which is almost 5 times as much as Ghostbusters in under half the time.

The event introduces three new items to the game: three brand new suits in the White, Red and Blue Hero Armours, the Firecracker Grenade and the Dragon's Breath Cannon, the event weapon that looks like a dragon sitting in a wooden cart. The Hero Armours all function similarly to the Exosuit in that they replace your current clothing; however, the black and blue ones are significantly better due to their reduction to explosive items (the red one reduces by a massive 70%!). The Red and Blue suits provide a 10x boost to Good Fortune income while the White (available in Tier 11) gives 5x. Since the Red and Blue suits are premium, this event seems to be a marketing ploy by the developers since they help a ton in an event that is otherwise very difficult. The White suit, available in the event, gives no explosive reduction. There are the specific details of the armours:

As mentioned before, besides the new gear, the event functions the same way as the Ghostbuster's 30th event. You are awarded Good Fortune points for damaging Chinese Nian Dragons, and if you collect enough, you'll unlock prizes. Ghosts often spawn on dead players' bodies. Like the Ghostbusters event, there are three kinds of dragons: the Ghost Nian, who is like the regular ghost from the original event. It has low health (OHKO'd by Thumper) and stay in one spot. The Hungry Nian is like the Slimer, and has high health (eats up several Thumper shots). It will float away if you provoke it. Finally there is the Great Nian, who is like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. It has massive health, awards lots of Good Fortune points and can kill a player if it squashes them.
Explosive weapons are the way to go in this event - they deal en extra 40% damage to dragons compared to what they would have otherwise, and explosive gadgets are even stronger at 60%. As a result, Howitzer and Thumper and quite easily some of the best weapons for the event; shotguns are also good as they take massive chunks from the dragon's health. Almost all players will be using explosive weapons, so the Anti-Explosive gear from the Hand Grenade Fest and of course the Red and Blue Hero Suits are extremely useful in the event. Medikits are also useful to heal up when you're wounded.

Some tips to help with this crazy event:
- The ideal gear is Howitzer/ Thumper + gear that weakens explosive damage. Medikit gadget will also help.
- The Ghostbuster's Trap from the last event still works on the dragons! They're technically still ghosts. If you found these traps useful last time, they're just as effective here.
- Aim for the Great Nians. If you hear one spawn, look for it and shoot it. They offer the most Good Fortune out of anything in the game and should be your priority.
- Play a lot. If you want to pass this event for free, you'll need a ton of spare time as it requires a lot of Good Fortune in a very small time frame.
- Support each other. If you've completed the event, help someone out and let them beat up ghosts.
Extension
The event received massive demand for an extension like the ones given to Ghostbuster's 30th and Monster Mash. On March 1, the developers released a week long extension due to the demand, one day before the event was originally going to end.
