Easter Egg Hunt 2 (March 2015)
The Easter Egg Hunt returned for the first time in March 2015. The event remains largely the same as the first one at its core, with the same egg hunting rules as the last time and the same grenades as well; however, the prizes have changed significantly, and so has the game with the nerf of the Noisy Cricket included in the update. Like the last event, each player has a 15% chance to drop an egg when they die - collecting eggs will earn you prizes. The event is substantially more difficult that the last, as it requires over 3x the amount of eggs.
Prizes & Requirements

There are five notable changes in this event to the last one:
You may also skip some tiers if you own the Easter Bunny Bundle, but it's much better to buy the Warrior Bunny Bundle, as the vest it gives doubles your egg intake. Because of this, the event can basically be finished with 950 eggs, compared to 1,705 which would be the amount required if tiers 2, 5 and 8 were skipped. |
As for weapon choices, choose something that has good agility and is good on the battlefield. Blunderbuss, Flare Gun, Revolver, Darkness Combo Guns etc. are tops picks as a result. Hunter Rifle lets you collect Gold, so if that's a priority then they might be of use. This event doesn't have any specific limitation, so use the weapon you play the best with! While agility is particularly useful, you may also be successful using weapons that don't have perfect agility but posses other traits that make them favourable, such as Thumper or Double Barrel Shotgun. These weapons, particularly Thumper, are proficient at defeating players with some of the aforementioned weapons and may allow you to gain more eggs as a result of beating them more easily.
Again, the Easter Egg Hunt is a fairly unrestricted event in terms of weapon, gadget and armor choices, so the event's gameplay may be more strategic that simply playing offensively and hunting players and eggs. Some players have found success in trapping players with Stun Grenades, or staying back and letting other players kill each other, allow you to later come through and clean up the eggs. Another viable strategy is freezing players with a Stake Launcher weapon and throwing an Easter Grenade at them, which will have a higher chance of spawning an egg. Remember that players can still fire whilst stuck, so perhaps this strategy is most effective against weapons that have low range and won't be able to reach you.
Overall, the event is certainly achievable in the 16 days given to play it, even more so if the developers decide to extend it. If you're prepared to devote some time to playing Respawnables, go for it! While 1,900 eggs may look ridiculous compared to the original 608 in the first event, remember that there are now packs of three eggs available and that the event is now in Free For All, which means there are more players for you to kill and get eggs from. There's also the Warrior Bunny Bundle, which has gear that will help a ton in the event, so if you're having trouble, perhaps purchasing it is the best route to take.
