Hand Grenade Fest 2 (November 2014)
The Hand Grenade Fest returned to Respawnables via popular demand. The event has experienced a drastic decrease in difficulty compared to the original, making the Thumper easier than ever to get; otherwise, the event is the same, with no extra twists and the same bundle and prizes. The only change was a few extra tiers added in that offered Gold. Only 507 kills were required to pass this event compared to 1070 in the original, which is less than half the amount of kills! Some tips for the new version:
- Assuming that you played the Monster Mash event, you should have access to one of the Stake Launcher weapons. These weapons are key for completing this event; as they down slow players, it make it much easier to aim grenades on them. 3 or 4 shots with the Dual Stake Launchers and 2 shots with the normal Stake Launcher is enough to lower a player to a grenade's KO range.
- Grenade kills from the skill "Death From Below" count toward your grenade kill count! If you don't already know, this skill allows you to drop a grenade after you die. If a player is weakened enough and he stands near the grenade when it detonates, the kill you get counts toward your score. While there really isn't any strategy with this, it's still a nifty gimmick to keep in mind.
- Learn how the grenades work. They don't travel very far at all, even if you face upward, so you are very limited to close range combat when playing this event. Don't bother throwing a grenade at a player who is far away, it won't make the distance. Also know that grenades never kill a player who is at full health; weaken them before you throw a grenade at them.
- If you have friends who play Respawnables, get together with them and help each other pass the tiers. Although the event is definitely more achievable compared to the last one, doing this will definitely speed up the process.
